Your head needs skincare, too.

You might have to stay outdoors for a considerable portion of the day, which leads to a large amount of dirt, impurities and free radicals accumulated on your scalp. Therefore, we’ve shortlisted a few kitchen ingredients that should be on top of your list to retain your scalp quality and hair condition.

It’s vital to detox your scalp as if it gets dense up with dirt, then it won’t be able to absorb any nutrition provided. So here are a few home remedies you can use to detox it.

Baking Soda: Baking soda is quite effective in removing dirt and dandruff from our scalp.

Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar has now become a beauty essential as it’s known to solve a number of skin or hair related problems.

Tips: Dilute apple cider vinegar in water and rinse your hair with it at the end of shampoo.

Cucumber and lemon: It acts as a dry shampoo, and you can apply this mixture weekly to detox your scalp.

Cinnamon oil mask: This kitchen masala is known to be an excellent antioxidant for skin and hair.

Shikakai: Shikakai is one of the oldest ingredients for hair problems. It contains natural saponins which have deep cleansing properties.

Tip: Just mix some shikakai powder with water to form a paste. Massage this onto your scalp and through the hair length for a couple of minutes; rinse off with cold water.
