We all enjoy strangely satisfying videos and things that run smoothly, such as kinetic sand, slimes, and so on. But you know what the best one is that we can do, and it will make you feel like ooooh… this completed a part of me. It’s called Resin art. Personally, I love how in the videos, once you’ve decided on your design, you just pour the resin on the art, which goes very smoothly layering it up. I know what you’re thinking: these are divine sensations.
Here are 5 simple steps to make Resin Art:
- GATHER ALL THE INGREDIENTS:
Resin art is really cool to make but you always have to take precautions and know what is needed to make it before hand. So you have to create yourself a Resin Art starter tool kit which are mentioned below:

Pro tip: No matter how merely satisfying it is, always have gloves on because the chemicals can dry your hands out or if it’s not suitable for your skin you may have allergies.
- MEASURING:
This is the most important step for you so you will have to follow the guidelines, now no matter what you make the measurements are very important based on the size of the craft you’re making.
So, with your gloves on, mix an equal amount of Resin and Hardner into a bowl according to how much you will need to make a specific craft, which will be mentioned in the Resin Art starter kit.
Pro tip: Because we’re all beginners here, mix a little more resin than is needed, and you’ll be able to layer up your craft in one shot without having to mix more later.
- MIXING AND MAKING OF ART:
Pouring an appropriate amount isn’t enough; you must also mix both ingredients together and stir for at least 3 minutes. Once you’ve mixed these ingredients together, you’ll have about 45 minutes to create your art before the resin thickens and cures. Now that your mixture is ready, paint your bowl and prepare the moulds for bookmarks, keychains, jewellery, or whatever you’re making.
Pro tip: Scrape all the sticky spots from the bowl you’re mixing the ingredients in because the sticky spots have no cure.
- POURING:
I know what you’re thinking: ‘Won’t my art get smudged or wiped over if I pour resin over it?’ That is a common misconception; once you pour the art over it will level up on its own, so when your piece is finished, slowly pour the art and use a brush to tidy it up. You’ll notice bubbles appear, but that’s okay because they’ll either pop on their own or you can pop them for a classic finish.
Pro tip: If you’re makin a big art like most likely do it on a canvas or a wooden bowl or plate, because resin looks the best over these things and plus you’ll enjoy how it goes on every corner of your art and how smoothly it shines.
- 24 HOURS TO GO:
Now that we’ve finished mixing and pouring the resin on the art, it’s time to let it sit on its own in a dust-free environment. After about 8 hours, it will be tacky, but you can pour a second coat if necessary. After about 12 hours, you will be able to touch your art, and after 24 hours, it will be 95 percent healed.
Pro tip: Keep it still for 72 hours for the best finish, especially if you’ve given your art a second coat. Also, if you want to reuse your tools, immediately wipe them down with a paper towel.
