Our working methods are evolving. Working from home is something that many of us have had to get used to as part of the new normal that came with the year 2020. As businesses consider the future of the “typical” workday, more are opting to offer the option of long-term remote working.
Working from home has been a blessing in terms of avoiding long commutes and, more importantly, remaining safe throughout the pandemic. However, there are some drawbacks to WFH life, such as feeling unmotivated by your makeshift couch-slash-office or being all too tempted to take a quick afternoon nap during that Tuesday afternoon Zoom meeting.
Each zodiac sign has the ability to excel under pressure, but we all work differently, so how we function and work best from home will differ as well. Read on to find out what your horoscope says about your WFH pattern.
Aries (March 21 – April 20)
Working from home and away from positions of power can be a constant struggle for an Aries, who thrives on superiors’ respect and admiration. That is not to say that Aries are “suckers” or “yes people,” but they do gravitate toward successful people, and their work style reflects this.
They must be hardworking and focused in order to see how all the pieces of a project fit together and how they can contribute to the best possible outcome. This is a great quality in the office because all of the tools are in front of them, but when working from home and without access to the information they require, they can become easily frustrated and distrustful of others’ work and effort. . On the other hand, they can be relied on to manage themselves extremely well, and if kept in the loop, they can be one of the most valuable members of a team when you need to rely on someone.
Pros: They are hardworking, self-assured, and have a lot of energy.
Cons: Self-centered, impulsive, and in need of approval.
Taurus (April 21 – May 20)
The ideal ‘hands-on’ manager for today’s work environment. They are always the leader, and they are kind, understanding, quick to offer helpful advice, and patient with problems. In a time of uncertainty and helplessness caused by lockdown, you want a Taurus in charge making the decisions. A Taurus will give you the ultimate insight into what you’re doing right and, unfortunately, what you’re doing wrong.
They don’t take fools lightly, and while they’re there to lend a shoulder to cry on, if they sense you’re not pulling your weight, they won’t be shy about letting you know. When under pressure, a Taurus will be focused, dependable, and persistent, and will expect nothing less from you. Because of their extremely high standards, they can bring negative energy to the workplace if they believe things aren’t getting done, and they aren’t easily forgiven if a mistake is made.
Pros: Endurance, a strong leader, and a warm-hearted personality.
Cons: Jealousy, tendency to get into one’s own head, resentment of less-skilled workers.
Gemini (May 21 – June 21)
Geminis are commonly misunderstood as being two-faced, when in reality they simply have a natural ability to adapt to all types of personalities. Want someone to talk rugby with the new guy and then gossip about the latest celebrity feud on Twitter? Consult a Gemini. Geminis, who thrive on playful antics and are always the ‘ideas’ people, aren’t naturally suited to working from home alone because they need people to bounce ideas off of and tend to become distant when kept out of social work environments.
That’s not to say they won’t work hard because they’re adaptable to new situations, but don’t be surprised if you don’t hear from them for the entire day and never get a response to your emails. Because of their adaptability, they have a tendency to overreact to things they don’t understand, or, worse, do nothing at all. When dealing with a Gemini who works from home, keep an eye on the details and keep them in check, as the smallest mistake can easily derail their mood.
Pros: Adaptable to various work environments, creative, and versatile.
Cons: They are anxious, minor problems can overwhelm them, and they are deceptive.
Cancer (June 22 – July 22)
Cancers are naturally creative and full of ideas, and they tend to bring positivity and nurturing personalities to any workspace they enter. Cancerians will be the one to keep everyone in touch and bring people together for brainstorming sessions or after work activities during lockdown and working from home.
They aren’t built for abrupt changes, and the fluctuations of offices opening and closing would have been devastating to them. Consistent priorities and goals are essential, and removing them can leave a Cancer befuddled and unfocused. As a result, they may appear fragile, but Cancers respond well to challenges and are natural helpers, though they can become overly emotional and reliant on the praise of others.
Pros: Intuitive to needs, creative, and willing to help struggling employees
Cons: moody, reliant on approval, and overly emotional.
Leo (July 23 – August 21)
There’s a case to be made that a Leo’s animal should be an alpha male wolf rather than a lion. Leos are natural leaders, whether in charge or not, and will naturally gravitate toward positions of power, or at the very least positions in which they can exert control over situations. During lockdown, you’ll most likely hear them talk about Zoom meetings or pinging emails in your direction with suggestions for improving a project. Indeed, Leos are so focused on their goals and demands that they may not even realise they are working away from the office – they are so engrossed in their work ethic or targets that all they see is the end result.
As a result, particularly when not accompanied by body language, In emails, Leos can come across as bossy and patronising, which can quickly turn other employees against them. A compliment can help to relieve tensions, as Leos genuinely appreciate being recognised for their hard work and effort.
Pros: It’s all about the end goal, it’s focused, and it’s energetic.
Cons: Bossy, patronising, and overbearing.
Virgo (August 22 – September 23)
Virgos are detail-oriented workers, partly because it’s in their nature not to overlook anything, and partly because they’re total perfectionists. If you have a project or task that requires the best possible effort but you are unable to supervise it due to lockdown restrictions, delegate it to a Virgo and it will be a job well done.
They genuinely want to improve the company and themselves, and will raise the work rate of anyone you pair them with, even if their attitude can sometimes come across as arrogant. Because of their drive, they will manage and take over projects if they believe the other person is incompetent, which is obvious that there’s a problem when everyone isn’t in the same office to contribute and grow.
Pros: Meticulous, even when working from home, practical, and dependable.
Cons: When left alone, they are overly critical, perfectionist, and overbearing.
Libra (September 24 – October 23)
The no-problem attitude and easy-going nature of a Libra are ideal for these stressful, uncertain times. Not every team member can be a general or a maternal figure, and a Libra is always needed on a dream team of staff. That’s not to say they don’t contribute; it’s just that every team needs a team player, and Libras bring positive vibes and perspective to any role, amplifying those around them.
Always be fair; they expect the same from you, so always act with integrity, and they will gladly support you. Though, as with any easy-going personality, they can be easily swayed and turn away from conflict, instead seeking peace and sitting on the fence, So, if you’re looking for an honest response via email, don’t expect a profound response from a Libra.
Pros: A calming influence, a steady hand, and diplomatic skills (to a fault).
Cons: Indecisive, overly sensitive, and easily swayed.
Scorpio (October 24 – November 22)
Scorpios, depending on how you look at it, are ideal for companies that currently have employees working from home. When a Scorpio has a goal in mind, there is sometimes no stopping them. They are passionate about their work and driven beyond belief. If you work from home, a Scorpio will expect the same dedication from your work as they do from theirs, so expect text messages to ping into the work group chat at 9 p.m. And it’s best to respond to Scorpios because they’re notorious for holding grudges and can be very unforgiving for past mistakes.
When we work from home, it’s best to have a Scorpio on our side, as they can become resentful and obsessive if they believe you don’t mean what you say. That is not to say they are supervillains, but their hardworking nature and steely determination can irritate some people.
Pros: They are passionate about their work and the people around them, they are emotional, and they are a go-getter.
Cons: Obsessive, resentful of people who don’t work for a living, never switches off.
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 22)
Sagittarius, the Mr Motivators of the office world, has an infectious good-nature and well-meaning personality that is essential to have around in these bleak times. Some people mistake Sagittarius for a doormat in terms of how they are treated by others, but they aren’t there to pretend to please – they genuinely care. Working with a Sagittarius, who has a positive attitude and a big heart, can feel like working alongside your favourite teacher, because they have a natural ability to make sure everything is where it should be.
Their energy is contagious, and they must shine or risk becoming withdrawn. One disadvantage of their upbeat personality is that they don’t always handle themselves professionally and can unintentionally drag you down with them when explaining their actions. Also, because of their good nature, they do not always provide constructive criticism of you or your work, preferring to focus on the positive.
Pros: Future-oriented, upbeat, and enthusiastic.
Cons: Irresponsible when in the wrong, absent-minded, and overly optimistic.
Capricorn (December 23 – January 20)
Capricorns, like Leos, are obsessed with their jobs, but unlike Leos, they do it for the sake of keeping everything running smoothly. If you’re thinking that sounds like an ideal work colleague for lockdown, you’d be correct.
Capricorns make excellent leaders when everyone is working from home because they are self-disciplined and motivated, and they expect others to be the same. They, like Geminis, are used to getting along with a wide range of people and working styles. They can be a little too direct when explaining things they don’t like, and don’t expect them to sugarcoat it if they have an issue with you. Also, because Capricorns are so practical, don’t expect to get world-changing ideas – Capricorns are there to put plans into action, not to create them.
Pros: Always a professional, a leader, and a dedicated worker.
Cons: Lack of imagination, pessimistic when things go wrong, and blunt.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)
Do you need someone to get into the zone, work all day, and produce excellent results? Aquarius is sometimes portrayed as the robots of the zodiac, but I see it as an unwavering dedication to their craft. When working from home, an Aquarius thrives on being on their own and just getting on with it, though this is not to say they don’t appreciate input from others. An Aquarius welcomes advice and assistance, and enjoys assisting others; however, make sure you ask them at the appropriate time, as they can appear distant and unemphatic when they put their minds to something and are interrupted.
Because they are sometimes perceived as emotionally detached while working, this can lead to miscommunication, especially when we are all working from different locations. Give them some space; when they’re not working, they’re very loyal and honest, making them ideal for lunchtime chats.
Pros: Friendly when not interrupted, open to new ideas, and self-sufficient.
Cons: Unpredictability when irritated, lack of emotion when pressed for time, cold.
Pisces (February 20 – March 20)
Pisces in the workplace will always be there to listen and help talk through problems because they are compassionate and open to talking about them. They’re also creative and free-thinking, and while you may question their approach to work, you don’t want to step on their toes or micromanage them because they’re natural daydreamers and constantly thinking things through (if you’re waiting for an email from them, go make a coffee).
As with many compassionate people, they can be easily led astray and struggle to stand up for themselves in stressful situations, so if they’ve ruined your day by making a mistake, maybe keep it to yourself. Pisces are likeable and selfless when it comes to praise, and they prioritise the feelings of others during lockdown, so ask them how they’re doing every now and then.
Pros: Even when overburdened with work, she is creative, sympathetic, and selfless.
Cons: Vague on details, easily led astray, and weak-willed in the presence of bossier people.
