What should you do if you’re in Bangalore? Easy! Get away for the weekend! And with the Long weekend drawing in close, I’m here to help you figure out your SHANTIGREH for the next three days!  

The following are some of the top weekend getaways from Bangalore:

  1. COORG 

Coorg, sometimes known as the Scotland of India, is filled with infinity pools, enthralling homes, delectable indigenous cuisine, and lush nature. If you enjoy coffee, make a beeline towards the hilltops where you may sit sipping tumblers of filtered coffee with your special someone.

In addition to all of this, you’ve got a vibrant mix of adventure, relaxation, and enjoyment, all at reasonable pricing. You’ll find a plethora of interesting places to see, making it a great location for a fast weekend break near Bangalore.

In Hampi, you can see appealing riverfront houses (at reasonable costs), wood-fired pizzas, hammocks to relax in, and even riverside picnic areas. Rent a car, grab your lover, and set off to explore the massive ruins of the Vijayanagara kingdom that Hampi is famous for.

Highlights include ancient temple ruins, monolithic sculptures and monuments, and breathtaking mediaeval carvings.

  1. WAYANAD

To be honest, one weekend may not be enough to get the most of this trip. But, if you’re the type of traveller who prefers to focus on one destination at a time, Wayanad is the place to be!

Explore the tea estates, go bamboo rafting, visit Soochipara Falls (an amazing three-tiered cascade surrounded by trees), visit Edakkal Caves (which has pre-historical stories), walk via Chembra peak, and take a safari ride through the Wayanad Sanctuary. Let’s just say there’s never a shortage of things to do in Wayanad!

Highlights include camping and trekking trails, breathtaking waterfalls, and bird-watching areas.

  1. KODAIKANAL 

Kodaikanal, one of Bangalore’s most popular hill towns, is buzzing with sharp granite cliffs, forested valleys, calm lakes, tumbling waterfalls, and never-ending grassy hills.

With so much to see, touch, and taste, Kodaikanal offers a plethora of activities such as rowing, hiking, cycling, or just plain old exploration without a plan. You will also be greeted by a large range of local handicrafts and items, which you may use to surprise your loved one!

Highlights include a tranquil environment, scenic tourist attractions, shopping, and jaw-dropping waterfalls.

So, what’s stopping you? our bank balance? To be honest, I’ve visited half of these locations as a college student, so you can imagine how broke I was to even afford it.Nonetheless, you can minimise your expenses yet have the maximum amount of fun! 

There are plenty of places to cut down on expenses, that would include taking public transport instead of hiring private vehicles or staying a little away from the heart of the city, or the best: GET YOUR GANG ON THE TRIP, the more the people, the cheaper the trip!
