8 ACCESSORIES THAT CAN ENHANCE YOUR MOST BASIC OUTFITS

An accessory is anything other than your clothes that you wear or carry.

A woman makes an outfit of her own with accessories,” said Oscar de la Renta, a well-known fashion designer. The significance of accessories cannot be overstated, and this is true for both men and women. Accessories aim to enhance the effect of the clothes you wear; whether they succeed or fail is determined by your sense of style, the fashion trend at the time, and the context.

People are said to judge you based on your shoes and watch in the first three seconds of meeting you—if that is all the time you have to make a good impression, that is reason enough to work hard on your accessories.

Here is a list of the 8 most important accessories that can help you enhance your most basic outfit into an extravagant one.

1. Waist Belt

A good waist belt will cinch your waist, giving the appearance of a thinner waistline and making some sloppy clothes look more streamlined. Before purchasing the fancier options, start with a black or tan belt with a gold or matching buckle. Not just for your western outfits, you can use these techniques on your ethnic wear as well.

2. Statement necklace

A statement necklace says it all. If you’re a full-blown maximalist like myself, this will be your go-to accessory. You don’t need to add any additional jewellery to this look, but if you must, Try dainty rings or tiny stud earrings. I love wearing a chunky necklace inside a shirt; they look amazing, like how Anushka Sharma has donned it in the picture below.

3. Statement earrings

I’m a huge fan of statement earrings and have a collection of them. Every month, I try to buy myself a pair of eye-catching earrings. They could be hoops, enamelled or battered metal, or both. Earrings of all shapes, sizes, and styles are suitable. They allow for so much experimentation, and I frequently pair them with prints and bright colours. As a result, statement earrings should be included among your must-have basic accessories.

4. Scarf

I don’t like wearing long scarves and stoles because they make me feel hot, but I really like them when I’m travelling because they look great under a trench coat. As a result, this item has become a must-have basic accessory to have in your wardrobe. You can buy handkerchief scarves, which are mostly silk and printed (my favourite). I adore those vintage Versace prints, which look so elegant when worn correctly.

5. Sunglasses

So the thing about sunglasses is that trends go in and out of style constantly, which makes you want to invest in less expensive purchases. But I’m here to tell you that they can seriously impair your vision. This is one must-have accessory that will necessitate a small investment. If nothing else, invest in a pair of classic Ray-Bans that will never go out of style. Personally, I prefer oversized all-black sunglasses in general. What kinds do you prefer?

6. Stockings

A nice pair of stockings is always a must-have basic accessory to have; they look great with a mini dress or even under a pair of shorts. Get them in opaque black and a pair that are more transparent. Right now, colourful stockings are trending. With the help of stockings, you can convert your summer wear into winter wear. I have a wide range of stockings in my wardrobe; they’re my go-to for winter wear layering or when I missed my waxing appointment (wink, wink).

7. Watches

Watches have been around for a long time, which means they have become an essential part of fashion culture. Consider purchasing a watch if you are looking for a good accessory to help you complete your outfit!

People love watches for two reasons: their functionality and their design. Today, even a smartwatch can be considered an accessory, making you appear modern and stylish. There are numerous brands and styles of watches on the market today. As a result, you may need to spend some time selecting a suitable watch, but there is undoubtedly one that is right for you.

8. Hair accessories

Hair accessories are a simple way to express yourself. Examine your current hair accessories to see if they can be improved: Can you replace a regular hair tie with a silk scrunchie? A plain clip in place of a colourful acetate one? Extravagant hair bands have been trending, so you can also add those to your collection of accessories. You can tie a scarf around your braids. The sky’s the limit with this category, so research and go crazy with it. Trust me, you won’t regret it. You’ll be the head turner wherever you go.

I hope this list serves as a simple addition to your must-have wardrobe essentials. There’s a lot of room for experimentation with accessories, and this list could have gone on forever. This blog, like all good things, must come to an end. Let me know if you already have any of these accessories in the comments section. Don’t forget to share it with your fashionista friends and bookmark it for future reference. Until my next blog, stay stylish!

Love,

SM
