It’s not super hard, promise!

I’m going to be real with you: My feet can get, uh, pretty gross. And while they can usually be saved by a solid pedicure every other moth, self-quarantine has made me deal with it on my own. Pedicure at a salon gives us a relaxed and luxurious feel, isn’t it? But sometimes we have a money crunch or trying times like these. I decided to give myself a salon-worthy pedicure – I’m talking about soaking, trimming, massaging, the works. And after a little practice, I finally got my DIY pedicure routine on lock.

Ahead, 6 easy steps that’ll help you master you DIY pedicure in no time.

Things you need for a home pedicure:

Nail polish remover, cotton pads, shower gel, nail cutter, nail filer, scrub, Pumice stone, nail buffer, body lotion, towel, basecoat and nail polish.

6-step process to follow:

Step 1: Remove your old paint colour with the help of nail polish remover. You can use any brand remover on your choice. Take a few drops of remover on the cotton pad and hold it against it for a few seconds. It allows the acetone to break easily and remove the paint.

Step 2: Now comes the relaxation part. Soak your feet in a tub of warm water and mix a little shower gel in it. Thus, the soapy solution is ready for you. Soak your feet for 5-10 mins to soften the tough skin and cuticles.

Step 3: After taking out your feet from the warm soapy solution, it is essential to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. A foot scrubber works fine. Gently rub all over the feet in a circular motion for 5 mins. Pay attention to the particular areas like heels, soles and between the toes. Then rinse it with cold water.

Also, scrub your feet and nails with a pumice stone to remove dead cells.

Step 4: Trim your nails using a nail clipper and give them the shape you desire.

Step 5: The next step is to apply body lotion and massage your toes, feet and calves for 5-10 mins. It improves blood circulation and gives you healthier-looking feet.

Step 6: Soak a cotton pad with alcohol and clean the surface of your nails to remove any oiliness. Then apply a base coat of nail polish and let it dry completely. After that reapply the second coat to make it last longer.

Yayy..You are done!
