The plot begins with the introduction of childhood sweethearts Kukoo (Varun Dhawan) and Naina (Kiara Advani) Kukoo has only loved one person since he was a child, and that is Naina, so they show how Kukoo expressed his love for his only sweetheart and married her in a very romantic way. They are seen in Canada after 5 years of dating, where Naina is a hotshot executive and Kukoo is a bouncer. They are seen apart after 5 years of marriage because things didn’t work out the way they expected.

Because everything was so boring and they couldn’t take it any longer, they decided to divorce on their fifth wedding anniversary, but they waited until Ginni’s wedding (Prajakta Koli), their family’s youngest daughter, to tell their families. So, when they go to India, they act like the happy couple they’ve always been until the wedding is over and they announce their divorce.

But, no, there is no fun in life without plot twists. Naina receives a call from her boss informing her that she has been offered the position of CEO of the company in New York! That’s a great opportunity, but she has to leave in a few days. She tells Kukkoo that they need to tell their parents right away, so Kukkoo devises a plan and gets his father, Bheem (Anil Kapoor) drunk. While he had the chance to tell his father, Oh no! Another bombshell is that his father wishes to divorce his mother, Geeta (Neetu Kapoor), and that he is having an affair with Kukoo’s college teacher, Meera Mam ( Tisca Chopra).

While Varun Dhawan was trying to process and mend things, director Raj Mehta did an outstanding job of turning this typical Indian problem into a comic roller coaster. So Kukoo’s journey through his own divorce and his father’s divorce was a difficult one, and the fun begins when Kukoo enlists the assistance of his brother-in-law, Gurpreet (Manish Khanna). On the other hand, Naina is tired of aunties telling her to have a baby, and when their family members perform a pooja, she complains that she and Kukoo are splitting up. Later on, Geeta learns of her husband’s affair with Bheem, before Bheem pretends to have a mild heart attack. Kukoo and Naina feel stuck because they cannot do anything right now because not only do they have to take care of their family, but their sister is to be married.

While Naina understands and consoles her mother-in-law, Bheem tries to stay with Meera forever, and she kicks him out, so he creates a drama in which he claims to have learned his lesson and wishes to return to Geeta. That is not correct! Meanwhile, while making family amends, Kukoo and Naina fall in love again but refuse to admit it.

So, what do you think will happen while delivering an emotional roller coaster of laughter and drama to everyone? Will Bheem learn from his mistakes? Will Kukoo and Naina split up? Will this family ever return to normalcy? Will they realise that putting themselves first in a relationship always causes problems? Or will they realise that relationships do not only work with love; there has to be respect and trust?
